The app unlocks free as soon as four coasters are connected, even if you bought them as singles, but the Table Set is the best value. Up to 8 coasters can play at once, and two players can share one coaster, so get the number that is right for your table.

Not for Batch #1. Manufacturing and shipping costs have been volatile, and we are watching them closely. We want this to cost about the same as one or two board games, for something you use with every game. We have not set pricing for later batches. Each batch gets its own price, announced when it opens. Whatever price you see at checkout is the price you pay. It is locked in, and it covers everything except shipping and tax.
Every batch has its own ship window. Batch #1 ships in the first quarter of 2027. It is a first production run with factory holidays in the middle of that window, so we would rather promise a window we can beat than a date we might miss. We post more specific timing on this page as we have it. If the window moves, everyone in the batch hears it from us first, with the option to cancel for a full refund.
Batch #1 closes near the end of October, or earlier if it fills. As soon as it does, Batch #2 opens, and its price and ship window get announced right here.

No. The full app is included with your set: download it, connect your coasters, and everything activates. There is no monthly fee. Friends joining your game night play from their phones, no account needed.
The app runs the game, and the coasters show it. The app is what lets us support complex game styles and flows, and it turns the turn-order data the coasters help collect into your stats and game history.
We are committed to supporting the app and to keeping the coasters working through it. However, if a situation arises where we can no longer support it and have to shut down its online services, we will give at least six months' notice (unless the law or events outside our control force a faster stop) and make the code necessary for the coasters to keep working open source (that is, how the app connects to and controls them), so others can build apps for them. If we shut down, we also intend to release our own final version of the app that runs the coasters and the app’s core game features on your phone without an account or a need to connect to our servers.
